Bentje Braam
There have been two Bentjes Braam, or Bentje Braams. Made as many albums. Edition three is coming up!
On the occasion of Michiel reaching the age of 60 in 2024, music connoisseur, art journalist, guitarist, initiator and filmmaker Bas Andriessen is making a documentary about him. In that film there will be about 20 fragments, mainly filmed by Andriessen between the eighties and now, featuring a multitude of projects, such as Bik Bent Braam, Trio BraamDeJoodeVatcher and Nopera, about which Andriessen also interviews Braam. For the premiere of the documentary, Michiel put together a new version of Bentje Braam, bringing together musicians from various stages of his career. A new version of his Second Coolbook will be played with this band. That 1995 program has since been performed in many versions, for solo piano and in arrangements for the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and the Metropole Orchestra.
